Vocal Art Ensemble

History

Vocal Art Ensemble is born in 2018 as new choral music project, after the decision of all the element and conductor of the Ensemble Vocal de Freamunde to find a new course in choral music.

To this new project the elements lent not only the will to spread the knowledge and taste for choir sing music either in Portugal or abroad, but also their experience o a wide repertory primed by quality and challenging on the execution.

The Ensemble repertory widespread through several musical genders, from Folk where the elements are widely known, Gospel to Symphonic and Sacred having this last also a great importance on this group activities.

 

As members of Ensemble Vocal de Freamunde this group,  in addition to several performances in mainland, Portugal, stands out the participation in the Festival of Tui – Spain (January 2006) ; Festival of Music for Young People, Gaia (April 2006); International Festival of Choirs of Alta Pusteria /Italy (June 2006); Grieg International Choir Festival – Norway (September 2007); Preveza, International Choir Festival, Greece (July 2006) – where he was awarded a Bronze Medal in the Competition Of Sacred Music; International Festival of Cantonigrós – Barcelona (July 2008), where he obtained an honorable 6th place; Vivace International Choir Festival – Hungary (August 2008), achieving 1st place; III International Choir Festival Randers – Denmark (August 2009) and at the 16th Festival Choral International en Provence (July 2011). From the repertoire already made, stands out, Carmina Burana by Carll Orff, Requiem by Fauré; Missa Solemnis by Beethoven at the opening concert of the Days of Music 2013, at the Centro Cultural de Belém. It has also participated on the TV programs Câmara Clara and Portugal no Coração of RTP.

Already as Vocal Art Ensemble has participate on the first  Portuguese production of the Phantom of the opera.

Vocal Art Ensemble is directed by the conductor Sílvio Cortez, since its foundation.
